Patrick E. Moran was born on October 4, 1921. He was the son of Mrs. Lucy Schelcher/Moran. He was the husband of Margaret Haile.

Patrick served in the 355th Fighter Squadron, 354th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant and Fighter Pilot on the P-51B #42-106952 during World War II. On June 23, 1944, 2Lt Moran took off from A-2 airfield in Cricqueville-en-Bessin, France, on an armed reconnaissance mission between Falaise and Vire, France. At 09:20H, his plane was shot down by flak and crashed in the commune of Montchauvet - 15 km northeast of Vire.

2Lt Moran was killed in the crash. He is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA.
