Bernard Lipsky was born on September 19, 1916, in Lynn, Massachusetts. He was the son of Louis Lipsky and Lena Freeman Lipsky.

Bernard served in the 452nd Bomber Squadron, 322nd Bomber Group, Medium, as a First Lieutenant and Bombardier on the B-26 Marauder #43-634146 during World War II.

On the return trip from a mission to bomb a bridge at Trier, Germany, on November 9, 1944, his crew encountered severe icing conditions. It was surmised that this was the cause when they crashed near Forest de Vau in Gondrecourt-le-Chateau, France. Unfortunately, all men on board were killed.

1Lt Lipsky is now buried in the Anshe Sfard Cemetery, Danvers, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA.
