Alan MacDonald Sturdy was born on January 21, 1945, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Donald D. Sturdy and Eleanore L. Jamieson Sturdy.
Sgt Sturdy served in the 41st Scout Dog Platoon as an Infantry Operations & Intelligence Specialist. He was Killed in Action on July 2, 1967, in Vietnam due to multiple fragmentation wounds received from a hostile incident.
