Robert Wayne Kenny was born on March 19, 1942, in Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Olive Kenny of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Robert enlisted in the US Army in 1963, undergoing this basic and advanced training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He received orders for duty in Vietnam and arrived in the country on July 17, 1966, where he was assigned to and served with a recon platoon, HHC Company, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, USARV. During a combat mission on January 24, 1967, in Binh Dinh Province, Sgt Kenny was hit and killed by enemy rifle fire.
