William Reid Robson was born on November 22, 1928, in Hamilton, Hamilton Municipality, Ontario, Canada. He was a prior Chief Petty Officer before becoming an officer. He had 22 years of service in the US Navy, arrived in Vietnam on November 15, 1967, and was assigned to Naval Support Activity Saigon, United States Naval Forces Vietnam. On February 6, 1968, LT Robson was killed in action by an explosive device and died outright from multiple fragmentation wounds.
