Arthur Monson Greene, of Detroit, Michigan, was born on February 22, 1922, in Fox River, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was the son of Roland Keller Green and Chrean Hazel Allen Smith.

Arthur served in the #405 City of Vancouver Squadron (Ducimus) of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer (Air Gnr.) during World War II. he was declared Missing in Action on October 1, 1942, when his Halifax II W7710, which took off at 17h35 from RAF Topcliffe, England, went missing during an attack against Flensburg, Germany.
