Daniel Moriarty of Washington, D. C., served in the 625 (RAF) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer during World War II. On May 3, 1944, his crew took off at 21h58 from RAF Kelstern, England, on a mission to attack the training camp at Mailly-le-Camp, France. Due to an unknown circumstance, their Lancaster aircraft # LM 515 crashed at Trouan-le-Petit - 40 km north-northeast of Troyes, France.
