Lawrence Warren Beavo was born on February 15, 1913, in Mishawaka, St. Joseph County, Indiana. He was the son of Orie L. Beavo. He was married to Helen M. Teske Bookhamer.
He served in Company G, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 29, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
