Benjamin Ross Evans Jr. was born on August 8, 1923, in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. He was the son of Benjamin Ross Evans and Ruth Louise Kilmer Evans.
He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Private First Class during World War II. He was declared as Missing in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam. He has also a cenotaph at Idlewilde Cemetery, Hood River, Hood River County, Oregon, USA.
