Edward Francis Kelly was born on September 12, 1920, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
He served in Company B, 1st Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Corporal during World War II. During the night of July 25th, Edward was in charge of two squads. During the first part of the attack, he was wounded but wouldn't leave his men. He was given a shot of morphine and they work very fast. Towards the last part of the attack, a large shell burst and when daylight came, Edward's gun had been and from his appearance, he had been killed by the concussion from the shell burst. He was Killed in Action on July 26, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
