Edward Eugene Phemister was born on September 19, 1926, in Jackson County, Illinois. He was the son of Faunt Dillon Phemister and Susan Marcella Reeder Robinson.
He served in the Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 26, 1922, during the Battle for Guam.
