Arthur William “Buddy” Sargent was born on July 10, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Herbert Nelson Sargent and Edna Mae Walter Sargent.
He served in Company G, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 29, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
