Edward Henry Topka was born on March 13, 1924, in Canonsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Stanley Topka Sr. and Rose Romankewicz Topka.
He served in the Amphibious Reconnaissance Company, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
