Clarence Robert Booth was born on June 6, 1891, in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. He was the son of Edward Booth and Mary Bell Eller Booth.

Booth entered the service on April 27, 1918. He served in Battery A, 334th Field Artillery Battalion as a Private during World War I. He died of pneumonia on September 9, 1918, in hospital La Courneau, Camp Hunt in France. He was buried in the Temporary U.S. Cemetery in La Courneau and later transferred to Battle Ground Cemetery, Battle Ground, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. The inscribed unit on his headstone is 344th FAB.
