Roy Oliver Durham was born on November 1898, in Moorefield, Frontier County, Nebraska. He was the son of John Oliver Durham and
Minola Bell Crawford Durham.
He served in Battery C, 345th Field Artillery Regiment, 90th Division, as a Private during World War I. His military occupation or specialty was Wagoner. He died of Lobar pneumonia on September 25, 1918, in Camp Hospital, Camp du Courneau (aka Camp Hunt). Durham was initially interred at Temporary American Cemetery, Le Courneau (Bordeaux), and was finally reinterred at Suresnes American Cemetery, Suresnes, Hauts-de-Seine (Paris), France.
