Orin Lynn Daulton was born on September 20, 1920, in Scranton, Greene County, Iowa. He was the son of Sherman Frank Daulton and Dollie Nell Corey. He registered for military service in 1942.

Orin served in the 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 3, 1944, during the liberation of Pont Farcy in France. T5 Daulton is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
