Carl Emory Webb was born on September 13, 1913, in Hamilton, Hancock County, Illinois. He was the son of James Monroe "Roe" Webb and Florence Wheeler Webb. He was the husband of Myrtle Mae Williams Veatch.
Carl served in the 320th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 3, 1944, during the liberation of Pont Farcy in France. Pvt Webb is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
