John Mado Crafts was born in 1919, in Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. He was the son of Otis Thompson Crafts and Una MacDonald Crafts. John served in the 47th Infantry Battalion, 5th Armored Division, as a Captain during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 10, 1944, during the liberation of Marolles, France. Cpt Crafts is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Departement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
