Born in Canda and grew up and married in the USA.

Widowed, a store clerk by trade, he enlisted in the Canadian Army on 27 Sept 1939 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He served in Canada, in the UK and participated in 'Jubilee Operation', the Dieppe Raid in France); still at sea, approaching the beaches of Dieppe with his regiment, Private Pendleton was killed by enemy action. On 19 Nov 1942, his body washed ashore at Ault, Onival, France.
Son of Samuel Allen Pendleton and Florence 'Belle' Pendleton of Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
Private Cecil Laverne Pendleton is commemorated on Page 106 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance.
