Clement Galetto Jr. was born on November 10, 1924, in Alpha, Iron County, Michigan. He was the son of Clemente Galetto and Maria Antonio Galetto. He served in the 603rd Bomber Squadron, 398th Bomb Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Waist Gunner of B-17 #42-107186 during World War II.

On August 4, 1944, during a mission targeting Peenemünde, Germany, the aircraft was struck by enemy anti-aircraft fire (flak) and crashed near Fresendorf Beach, close to Greifswald, Germany. All nine crew members aboard were killed in action.

Sgt Galetto is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville-en-Condroz, Arrondissement de Liège, Liège, Belgium. Clement Galetto's name is inscribed on the Anstey Window Memorial in Panel 1 (left), on Butterfly 4, in the top right wing (section B).
