Thomas Allen Hull Jr. was born on May 22, 1920, in New York, New York County, New York. He was the son of Thomas Allen Hull Sr. and Annie Laurie Garner Hull Dwyer. He served in the 391st Fighter Squadron, 366th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of P-47 Thunderbolt #42-76251 during World War II.

On August 31, 1944, the aircraft went down during an armed reconnaissance mission over Beauvais in France’s Oise department. It had departed from airfield A-41 at Dreux Vernouillet and was flying as the second aircraft in the Red Section. At around 16:15, while executing a low-level strafing run near the commune of Saint-Rémy-en-l'Eau, approximately 5 kilometers north of Clermont, the plane struck a telephone pole and crashed.

2Lt Hull was Killed in Action and is now buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, USA.
