Howard Emerson Ludwick was born on March 12, 1917, in Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio. He was the son of Peter Simon Ludwick and Edna May Graves Ludwick. He served in the 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, as a First Lieutenant during World War II.
