Theophalus Aldwell “T. A.” Williams was born on September 11, 1921, in Dallas County, Texas. He was the son of Theophalus Alfred Williams and Ida Aldwell Williams. He served in the 370th Fighter Squadron, 359th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of P-51 Mustang B-15 #42-106878 during World War II.

On August 17, 1944, the aircraft was downed over France during a mission that included strafing and bombing runs over Reims and Rouen. It had departed from Station 133 at East Wretham, Norfolk, UK, and was likely intercepted by German Me 109 fighters around 14:00 near Nogent-sur-Oise in the Oise department.

1Lt Williams was Killed in Action and is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville-en-Condroz, Arrondissement de Liège, Liège, Belgium.
