Arthur Beauchesne was born on April 4, 1890, in Saint-Gabriel, Lanaudiere Region, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Israël Beauchesne, who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in New Hampshire in 1890, and Dina Dupuis Beaushesne. He worked in a cotton mill before enlisting in World War I. He returned to Quebec in 1914 and joined the 22nd Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment), as a Private during World War I.

After surviving a gas attack in France in 1915 and recovering in England, Pvt Beauchesne returned to the front. He was killed in action by cannon fire on June 11, 1916, in Belgium. Arthur is buried in an unmarked mass grave, but is memorialized on the Menin Gate Memorial, Panel #26 in Ypres, Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium. He also has a cenotaph in the Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA.
