Victor Herschel Conley was born on April 9, 1889, in Siloam Springs, Benton County, Arkansas. He was the son of Zachariah Taylor Conley and Mary Eleanor "Ella" Carl Conley. He served in the 22nd Company, Australian Machine Gun Corps, as a Sergeant during World War I.
Sgt Conley was Killed in Action on September 20, 1917, in Belgium. His name is memorialized on the Menin Gate Memorial, Panel #31 in Ypres, Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium. He also has a cenotaph in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Benton County, Arkansas, USA.
