William Jordan Currin was born on July 2, 1890, in Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio. He was the son of John Phillips Currin and Mary Etta Jordan Currin. He worked as a reporter in Toronto before enlisting in the service. He served in the 3rd Brigade, Canadian Machine Gun Corps, as a Bombardier during World War I.

Currin died from his wounds received in battle on November 11, 1917, in Belgium. He is now buried in the Ypres Reservoir Cemetery, Ypres, Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium.
