Louis Anthony Dobry was born on March 9, 1897, in Prague, Lincoln County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Joseph August Dobry and Anna Agnes "Annie" Ruzicka Dobry. He enlisted in the service on March 8, 1916. He served in the 49th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, (Alberta Regiment), as a Private during World War I.
Pvt Dobry was Killed in Action on October 30, 1917, in Belgium. His name is memorialized on the Menin Gate Memorial, Panel #30 in Ypres, Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium.
