Kenneth Gow was born on September 1, 1889, in Summit, Union County, New Jersey. He served in the 107th Infantry Regiment, 27th Division, as a Lieutenant during World War I.

Lt Gow was Killed in Action on October 17, 1918, in France. He is now buried in the Saint Souplet British Cemetery, Saint-Souplet, Departement du Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.

Distinguished Service Cross Citation:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Kenneth Gow, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Machine-Gun Company, 107th Infantry Regiment, 27th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Ronssoy, France, 29 September 1918. While supply officer for his company, Lieutenant Gow personally took rations forward with a pack mule through continuous shell and machine-gun fire. When all officers of his company were either killed or wounded, he assumed command and led it forward through heavy shell and machine-gun fire. He was killed on October 17.
