Theodore Scott Benn was born on July 21, 1921, in State College, Centre County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Harvey Neil Benn Sr. and Nora Ortha Woodring Benn. He served in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, as a Technical Sergeant during World War II.
TSgt Benn died from his wounds received in battle on December 7, 1944, during the liberation of Seingbouse, France. He is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Département de la Moselle, Lorraine, France.
