John McGeachie was from Erie County, New York. He served as a staff sergeant for the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the 846th Bomber Squadron, 489th Bomber Group.
On June 2, 1944, SSG McGeachie's B-24 Liberator was shot down in Villers-Saint-Paul. While the rest of his crew survived, McGeachie died in the crash.
SSG John McGeachie is buried in Epinal American Cemetery.
