SSgt Bernard E. McKeever, belly gunner of the B-17 42-31432 “Old Glory”, took off from Molesworth, Cambridgeshire, UK on a bombing mission over Lille’s railroad infrastructure. SSgt McKeever died when his plane crashed after being hit by German flak at 1900.
He also has a cenotaph located in Saint Anthony Cemetery, Oconto Falls, Oconto County, Wisconsin.
