1st Lt James F. Casey, pilot of the P-47 Thunderbolt 42-26149, took off from station 357 Duxford, Cambridgeshire, UK on a bombing mission over Rennes. He was shot down by a German Me-109 at 1420. He managed to bail out successfully but was later captured and sent to Stalag 7A in Moosburg, Bavaria.
