When Earl V. Grogan was born on May 27, 1925, in Calloway, Kentucky, his father, Clovis, was 20 and his mother, Lola, was 21. He had one brother and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 143rd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. He entered service in Kentucky. He died on August 30, 1944 during the invasion of southern France. He is now buried at Barnett Cemetery#1, Pottertown, Calloway County, Kentucky, USA.
