When William Wallace Muir was born on October 26, 1913, in Bay City, Michigan, his father, William, was 27 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 25. He had two sons with Thelma Jane Schramm.

He entered the military service in Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Normandy Invasion of World War II as a Second Lieutenant in A Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He ended his military service as a Captain.

He was a graduate of the University of Michigan, receiving his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. He then attended Michigan State University, receiving a Specialist Degree. Mr. Muir was a teacher in te Bay City Public School System and had taught at T.L. Handy School since 1948 in the Economics Department.

Mr. Muir passed away on October 25, 1983 at Cleveland Clinic and is now buried in Green Ridge Cemetery, Bay City, Bay County, Michigan, USA.
