When George A. Wurmbach was born in 1897 in Omaha, Nebraska, his father, Otto, was 31 and his mother, Laura, was 30. He had three brothers and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company B, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France.
