When Rudolph Staska was born on March 21, 1894, in North Dakota, his father, Thomas, was 35 and his mother, Antonia, was 31. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company H, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as PFC R STACKS.
