When Ceylon G. Cronk was born on November 19, 1896, his father, Lyman, was 30 and his mother, Mercina, was 25. He had three brothers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a First Sergeant in the 1st Engineer Combat Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1918 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as 1ST SGT C J CRONK.
