When Joseph Stanislas Aslin was born on November 24, 1894, in Cloud, Kansas, his father, Stanislaus, was 22 and his mother, Mary, was 19. He married M. Fayes in Dodge City, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 at the age of 23 in France and is now buried in Saint Peters Cemetery, Aurora, Cloud County, Kansas, USA. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as PVT J ASLING.
