Sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky; assigned to 31st Company, 8th Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade. Transferred to Camp Shelby, Mississippi; embarked for overseas June 11, 1918; assigned to Company D, 18th Infantry, 1st Division. Killed in action July 20, 1918, near Soissons, France.
