When Lelon William Moyers and his twin brother Lelon William were born on December 30, 1898, in Cunningham, Kentucky, their father, Marcus, was 35, and their mother, Maybell, was 20. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company F, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 6, 1918 (at the age of 19) and is now buried in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery, Cunningham, Carlisle County, Kentucky, USA. Lelon was shot through the Iungs with a large piece of shrapnel, which was the cause of his death.
