When Earl Howard Bible was born on January 17, 1902, in Holbrook, Nebraska, his father, William, was 34 and his mother, Effie, was 26. He had one brother and five sisters. He entered the military service in Idaho. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company L, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France.
