Behind the town church, by the Rue Notre Dame.


Monument
Two boulders, one large with a smooth plaque with red lettering carved into it, the other small with red lettering carved into it. Both commemorate the Allied invasion.  It is said that the monument was put in place to honor the drew of the BOEING B-17 FLYINGFORTRESS N° 42-29710 of the 94th Bomb Group that fell here on 29 May 1944.

english translation:

In thanks to the Allied soldiers who died on Melorien soil.
