Marker
A stone brick monument with an inlaid black plaque surmounted by a stone star with a black cross in the middle. The plaque bears white text commemorating American aviators. The whole thing is mounted on a stone base with a small black sign with gold lettering on it. The monument is surrounded by a white fence.

The B-24 crashed during an Operation Carpetbagger mission.

From Harrington Museum (Operation Carpetbagger) website: Hit hilltop and crashed 28.4.44 at St Cyr de Valorges, (Loire), France on Operation "Lackey 3A" at Drop Ground "Timbale". Previously served with 565BS 389 BG at Hethel as "Screamin Mimi"
