Next to the war memorial, near the entrance gate.
A low obelisk monument with a star on the top followed by a commemoration message that is written in French and then followed by a leaf branch. The monument is in memory of the two American aviators killed in the crash of the B-17 # 42-3071 on the railroad track near Louvres station on July 14, 1943. After being hit by German fighters, the B-17 was evacuated by its occupants, who parachuted out, except for the two, Lawrence Philips and Burton Reppert, who didn't have the time: The two airmen were originally buried in the town's military cemetery. The monument, raised by subscription from the people of Louvres, features a propeller blade from the bomber. Years ago, in the initiative of surviving members of the B-17 crew, a commemorative plaque in English was added to the monument.
