Plaque
A rough rectangular stone plaque engraved in French and red lettering honoring Pfc Leo Brady who was a member of the 330th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division, during World War II. On August 13, 2004, in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Saint-Malo, a plaque was unveiled at the Paramé Town Hall in his honor.
On August 6, 1944, American troops advanced into the Malvinas region, specifically the Fortress of Saint-Malo. The morning of that day was chaotic, and by 11 o'clock, the 83rd Infantry Division had fired shots at Saint-Malo. The Germans responded immediately, and during this exchange, PFC Brady was killed by shell shrapnel in Paramé.
