Liberation Plaque - 5th Infantry Division

On the side of the church behind the Lorraine Church, next to the plaque which includes the name of an American WW1 Aviator. Plaque


An inscribed black marble plaque with an American flag etched in the upper corner.

The plaque remembers the liberation of the town in September 1944 by the 10th Infantry Regiment of the 5th Infantry Division.

A soldier killed in action in Pournoy-la-Chétive and listed as missing in action and subsequently recovered there, PFC Harold Goodman, is remembered in the town of with a street named in his honor.

The plaque was dedicated in September 2024.
