A small freestanding rectangular plaque mounted on a metal pedestal with a slightly angled top, commemorating the soldiers of the 79th Infantry Division who liberated the villages of Wahlenheim, Batzendorf, and Niederschaeffolsheim during World War II. The plaque bears a dedication message written in English, French, and German.

DELIVRANCE*  A word from the Artist: To me, this sandstone block represents Alsace defeated by Nazi troops advancing from the East. Supported and shouldered by the cross of the 79th American Infantry Division coming from the West, Alsace fought to repel the German army and liberate our homeland.  These combined forces shed blood and tears for our freedom! Let us not forget their sacrifice. It is our duty to keep these memories alive, and thus, this monument stands here, in this place, ensuring that this memory never fades into oblivion!  David ROEHLLY Sculptor artist

DELIVRANCE Le mot de lArtiste : Pour moi, ce bloc de grès représente lAlsace terrassée par les troupes nazies arrivées par lEst.  Soutenue et épaulée par la croix de la 79e Division dInfanterie américaine venue de lOuest, lAlsace a combattu pour repousser larmée allemande et libérer notre patrie. Ces deux forces apposées ont fait couler sang et larmes pour notre Liberté ! Ne les oublions pas. Cest notre devoir de faire perdurer ces souvenirs et, pour ce faire, cette stèle est là, en ce lieu, pour que cette mémoire ne tombe jamais dans loubli !  David ROEHLLY Artiste sculpteur

DELIVRANCE* Ein Wort des Künstlers: Für mich stellt dieser Sandsteinblock das Elsass dar, das von den aus dem Osten kommenden Nazi-Truppen besiegt wurde. Unterstützt und geschultert durch das Kreuz der 79. amerikanischen Infanteriedivision Von Westen kommend kämpfte das Elsass darum, die deutsche Armee abzuwehren und befreite unsere Heimat. Diese beiden vereinten Kräfte vergossen Blut und Tränen für unsere Freiheit! Vergessen wir sie nicht. Es ist unsere Pflicht, diese Erinnerungen und damit auch diese Stele lebendig zu halten! ist da, an diesem Ort, damit diese Erinnerung nie in Vergessenheit gerät!  David ROEHLLY Bildhauer und Künstler
