MuseumA museum that remembers the 493rd Bomber Group which was part of the 8th US Air Force.
Debach (USAAF Station 152)was one of the last heavy bomber stations to be occupied by the US Army Air Forces 8th Air Force.
Occupied by the 493rd Bomb Group (nicknamed The Fighting 493rd of "Helton's Hellcats") in April 1944 , Debach was the last Eighth Air Force heavy bomber station to become operational: the group flying its first mission on D-Day 6th June 1944.
Following extensive restoration and development, visitors can now view the restored Control Tower, a Home Front Museum and the Nissen Museum which features a display on typical field operating equipment, medical supplies, instruments and apparatus used in the 1940s.
