The George C. Marshall statue in Athens is a 10-foot bronze sculpture located on the grounds of the U.S. Embassy in Athens.

A statue of George C. Marshall donated by the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (Order of AHEPA) to remember the friendship between Greece and the United States and the Marshall Plan.

This week, 70 years ago, Secretary of State George C. Marshall called for a U.S. economic aid program to restore the economic infrastructure of postwar Europe that would be known as the Marshall Plan. Marshalls generous $706 million aid program to Greece helped bring economic and social recovery and prosperity after World War II and the Greek Civil War.
In appreciation and in honor of a great American solider, statesman, humanitarian, and Philhellene, AHEPA erected the George C. Marshall Statue on the grounds of the U.S. Embassy in Athens in October 2000. The statue is a fitting monument to the strength and endurance of the U.S.-Greece relationship. The American Hellenic community is grateful to George C. Marshall and to all those who helped to make his vision for humanitarian aid for Europe, and especially Greece, a reality.
