Details:

On the island in an intersection on the D-127 between Lammerville and Hermanville. Two aircrews are honored on this memorial--the Canadians on top and the Americans below.

A fieldstone monument on a slate base bearing a black stone plaque with gold leaf engraving in French. A Souvenir Francais panel is behind the monument. The site honors the crew of the B-17 Flying Fortress 42-102516 shot down here on 13 August 1944. The crew survived. Evadés : Lt WEEKLEY Harold , Lt CLARK Benjamin, Lt JAMES Paul, Sgt SKARDA Joseph, Sgt LEONARD Gene, Sgt STICKEL Robert, Sgt FABIAN Joe. Capturés : Lt DELBART Raymond, Sgt BUCHSBAUM Louis.
